Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green were both brilliant for Australia but a fan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad emerged as the unlikely hero on Day 2 of the fourth Test encounter between India and Australia on Friday. Towards the end of day's play, Shubman Gill slammed Nathan Lyon for a massive six and the ball landed straight in the area covered by white sheets on the side of the sight screen. The ball seemed lost inside the sheets and the umpires decided to opt for a new ball in order to continue the game. However, a young fan had a different idea as he jumped inside the area and started searching for the ball. "The big fella has gone in," Ravi Shastri remarked in his commentary.

Australia all-rounder Cameron Green is seventh time lucky as he has converted a half-century into hundred and now feels more like a Test cricketer with "monkey off your back". Green, who is playing his 20th Test, scored 114 off 170 balls and his innings was no less significant than Usman Khawaja's 180 that took Australia to a solid first innings score of 480 on the second day of the fourth Test against India on Friday. "You feel more like a Test cricketer when you've got that monkey off your back, so it is nice to tick that off in a way. It's so special," Green told reporters at the end of the day's play.

Overall, he is second in the list alongside Rangana Herath while Muttiah Muralitharan tops the list with 45 five-wicket hauls on Sri Lankan soil. This was also his 32nd five-wicket haul in total – sixth-highest in the world.

Usman Khawaja was the star during Australia's first innings in the ongoing fourth and final Test against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The southpaw scored 180 runs as the visitors posted a total of 480 runs before being bundled out on Day 2. Australia were reduced to 170 for 4 at one stage on the opening day of the game, but Khawaja and Cameron Green stitched 208 runs for the fifth wicket to bring the guests back in the driver's seat.
