Australia all-rounder Cameron Green is seventh time lucky as he has converted a half-century into hundred and now feels more like a Test cricketer with "monkey off your back". Green, who is playing his 20th Test, scored 114 off 170 balls and his innings was no less significant than Usman Khawaja's 180 that took Australia to a solid first innings score of 480 on the second day of the fourth Test against India on Friday. "You feel more like a Test cricketer when you've got that monkey off your back, so it is nice to tick that off in a way. It's so special," Green told reporters at the end of the day's play.

Australia's batsmen kept Indian bowlers and fielders on the field for almost two full days in the Ahmedabad heat as they amassed 480 in the fourth Test on Friday.

During Day 2 of the fourth Test match against Australia in Ahmedabad, Ashwin claimed his 26th five-wicket haul and in the process, he went past the record held previously by legendary spinner Anil Kumble. Overall, he is second in the list alongside Rangana Herath while Muttiah Muralitharan tops the list with 45 five-wicket hauls on Sri Lankan soil. This was also his 32nd five-wicket haul in total – sixth-highest in the world.

Usman Khawaja was the star during Australia's first innings in the ongoing fourth and final Test against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The southpaw scored 180 runs as the visitors posted a total of 480 runs before being bundled out on Day 2. Australia were reduced to 170 for 4 at one stage on the opening day of the game, but Khawaja and Cameron Green stitched 208 runs for the fifth wicket to bring the guests back in the driver's seat.

Registering his name in the history books, Usman Khawaja created a mountain of runs as he hit 180 runs in the first innings of the 4th Test against India in Ahmedabad. The Australian batter frustrated Indian bowers for as many as 5 sessions before Axar Patel finally got the better of him. But, it wasn't all straightforward as the hosts had to make use of the DRS to get rid of Khawaja as the line-umpire's decision on the LBW appeal was in the favour of the Australian batter.

The performance of Indian bowlers on Day 1 of the fourth Test match between India and Australia in Ahmedabad was uneven to say the least. While the hosts were able to take two wickets in the first session, most bowlers struggled with consistency and Usman Khawaja's brilliant ton meant that Australia ended Day 1 in the driving seat. However, the one India player who earned praise for his commitment on the field was skipper Rohit Sharma. Rohit looked proactive with his captaincy and kept trying out different bowling combinations to trouble the visitors. During the drinks break before Cameron Green came out to bat for Australia, Rohit was caught on video having an animated conversation with the team as he gestured towards the scoreboard and instructed his teammates.
