It was her 22nd birthday. Three teammates and the head Iowa Hawkeyes manager were with her, and soon everyone settled in and stories started to fly — senior year energy, still in college and nostalgic for it, too.
Creighton coach Jim Flanery had a simple message for his team headed into the 2022 women's NCAA tournament, as a No. 10 seed playing on the road and a possible game against No. 2 seed Iowa and Caitlin Clark looming.

The 2024 women's college basketball tournament is set to tip off as Iowa's Caitlin Clark seeks to cap off her remarkable college career with a title, but standing in the Hawkeyes' way is a field of 68 teams featuring, among others, an undefeated South Carolina squad as well as defending champions LSU and perennial powerhouses UConn and Stanford as well as fellow No.1 seeds USC and Texas.
Caitlin Clark has been a mainstay on The Associated Press All-America team the past few seasons.
