Welcome to 2023 NFL draft week. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, we will hear 259 names called as top prospects and future stars are selected to new teams. Why not project them all? I made picks across all seven rounds based on what I'm hearing around the league in my final mock draft.
After seeing just one quarterback selected in the first 70 picks last year, we could have as many as five go in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. A run on future franchise passers will assuredly start at No. 1 overall with the Panthers and could include four in the top five selections. No surprise, given the talent at the position in this class and the overwhelming need from multiple teams with high picks. Quarterback remains the most important position in the sport, and NFL teams are constantly trying to find their guy.
We're nearly a week out from the 2023 NFL draft, so I'm locking in my rankings. And I ended up listing 379 prospects, starting with Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. at No. 1 overall.
In a little over a week, on Thursday, April 27, 31 players will get new teams in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. The next night, 71 more names will be called in the second and third rounds. NFL draft analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay took a closer look at Days 1 and 2 of the draft with projections for all 102 of those picks.

The 2023 NFL draft quarterback class is led by the highly touted Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis — and it is considerably more exciting than the class of 2022.
Let's be clear right off the bat: This isn't a mock draft. What follows is far from a projection of which top prospects each team will actually take in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. Instead, it's a look at who might make sense — and should still be on the board — at each slot based on two very different draft room strategies: picking to fill a huge team need and picking based on «best player available.»
