Tottenham's disappointing campaign took another turn for the worse after Bryan Mbeumo’s second-half brace earned Brentford a fine 3-1 win at their London rivals.
Tottenham's season to forget hit a new low with a 3-1 home defeat against Brentford on Saturday, while Arsenal look to delay the Premier League title party for champions-elect Manchester City. An Arsenal defeat at Nottingham Forest in Saturday's late match would hand City their fifth title in six seasons. Even if the second placed Gunners win in Nottingham, City will still clinch a third successive title if they beat Chelsea on Sunday or defeat Brighton or Brentford in their final two games next week.
Brentford surged back in the second half to win 3-1 at Tottenham amid further unrest towards Daniel Levy from the home fans.
Brentford stunned Tottenham Hotspur in a match with big ramifications in the race for Europe, with Bryan Mbuemo scoring a brace as the Bees came from behind to win 3-1. Spurs, having switched to a back four, initially looked back to their free-flowing best and Harry Kane opened the scoring in the eighth minute, crashing home from more than 30 yards after Dejan Kulusevski rolled a free kick into his path and away from the wall. Ad Emerson Royal had a header cleared off the line as the hosts searched for a second goal, while Son Heung-min also came close but was denied by a super Ben Mee block.
