MCC Suspends 3 Members After Lord's Long Room Incident With Team Australia

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has suspended three members over altercations with the Australian team in Lord's Long Room following Jonny Bairstow's controversial stumping on the final day of the second Ashes Test. The MCC had earlier "unreservedly apologised" to the Australian team for the behaviour of some of its members, who allegedly verbally abused several visiting players as they made way to the dressing room at lunch on Sunday. Television footage showed openers Usman Khawaja and David Warner involved in a heated exchange with spectators in the Long Room, which is an area reserved only for MCC members and their guests.

England batter Jonny Bairstow's controversial dismissal on Day 5 of the second Ashes Test hogged all the limelight as Australia players were booed by spectators at Lord's. Bairstow was given out as Australia wicketkeeper Alex Carey threw the ball at the stumps after the batter walked out of his crease after ducking a Cameron Green bouncer. Australian players, who were making their way to the dressing room after Lunch was called, were confronted by MCC members in the famous Pavilion Long Room at Lord's.

England cricket team fast bowler Stuart Broad was left fuming after Ben Stokes did not take a review over the umpire's contentious decision during the second Ashes Test at Lord's on Friday. Marnus Labuschagne was trapped LBW and although the umpire give him not-out, it looked extremely close. Broad was completely convinced that it was out but Stokes decided against it. However, the replays showed that the ball should have crashed into the leg stump and the review would have been successful. Broad was not happy with the incident and when head coach Brendon McCullum signalled from the dressing room that it would have been out, Broad stopped and made his frustration known to the skipper.

Legendary Australian cricketer Ian Healy is "worried" about some of his country's top bowlers conceding six-runs-per-over against England in the second Ashes Test at Lord's, and said Pat Cummins' side will have to work really hard to stop the home team's run flow. England came out all guns blazing after Australia seemed to have put themselves in a comfortable position at 416 in the first innings on Day 2 of the second Test.
