The 27-year-old, who was knocked out in the last eight at the US Open, said that despite Majchrzak breaking his serve, there was "never really doubt in my mind that I was going to win". "I've barely been broken all year," so when "the opponent doesn't really do much to break me it's quite frustrating," he said after the 1h 21min match.

The 27-year-old Briton has won two titles this year, making it into the top 10 for the first time in his career and reaching the semi-finals at Wimbledon. He wasted no time taking down Japan's Uchida, breaking two of his serves in each set for a quick victory in one hour and three minutes.
Stan Wawrinka pulled off a stunning upset on Thursday, beating top-seeded Daniil Medvedev 6-4, 6-7 (7), 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals of the Moselle Open in Metz, France.
French wild card Gilles Simon, who plans to retire after the 2022 season, won his first-round match against Belgium's David Goffin 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday at the Moselle Open in Metz, France.
