NEW YORK — Shohei Ohtani was among seven players who turned down $20,325,000 qualifying offers from their former teams Tuesday and remained in free agency to pursue more lucrative contracts.

It feels far different on the hitting side. The supply there, according to some of the decision-makers present at this week's general managers meetings, doesn't seem anywhere near as pronounced as the anticipated demand.
