Nick Kyrgios fined $7,500 for spitting and swearing during US Open second round match against Benjamin Bonzi
Nick Kyrgios has been fined $7,500 for ‘spitting and audible obscenities’ during his win at the second round of the US Open on Wednesday, tournament organisers confirmed, reported Reuters. The fine is the largest of the tournament so far and follows on from a number of fines in the 27-year-old Australian’s career. Ad Kyrgios was in an angsty and talkative mood during his match against Benjamin Bonzi, beating the Frenchman 7-6(3) 6-4 4-6 6-4, but when he was broken in the fourth set he appeared to lose control of his emotions.
