Nineteen-year-old Bayern forward Jamal Musiala continued his blistering early season form, scoring again as Munich beat Wolfsburg 2-0 on Sunday. Musiala, who declared himself eligible for Germany in 2021 despite playing for England as a junior, now has four goals in three competitive matches to start the season. The 2-0 scoreline flattered Wolfsburg, with Munich going close to scoring on several occasions. Senegalese striker Sadio Mane had two goals stuck off for offside. Wolfsburg roared out of the blocks and almost forced a Bayern own goal when Canadian Alfonso Davies hit the post from an attempted clearance.
New signings Sadio Mane and Matthijs De Ligt scored debut goals as Bayern Munich thumped Major League Soccer's D.C United 6-2 in a friendly on Wednesday. Senegalese international Mane, who joined Bayern from Liverpool last month in a transfer worth a reported $42 million, opened his account for the Bundesliga champions from the penalty spot after five minutes. Mane's spot-kick was awarded after D.C. United centre-back Donovan Pines upended Lucas Copado as the teenage striker surged into the penalty area.
Bayern Munich have agreed a fee of 70 million euros to sign Dutch central defender Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus, according to reports in German media. Bild and Sport1 claimed the fee for the 22-year-old would be followed by an additional 10 million euros in bonuses.
Bayern Munich have doubled down by again telling Robert Lewandowski that he cannot leave before his contract expires next year.
Robert Lewandowski said on Monday that his time with Bayern Munich was over, without specifying his future plans, amid reports that Barcelona have made him an offer. "Today it is certain that my story with Bayern has come to an end," the Polish star striker told reporters in Warsaw. "I can't imagine further cooperation, after what has happened over the last few months," he added.
Bayern Munich have signed Morocco right-back Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax on a free transfer, the Bundesliga champions announced on Tuesday.
Robert Lewandowski's agent Pini Zahavi has made it clear the Polish striker wants to leave Bayern Munich, amid reports Barcelona have made an offer. "For Robert, things are very clear: he wants to leave FC Bayern this summer," Zahavi told German daily Bild. Lewandowski has already said he wants to leave Bayern, where he has a year left on his contract, with Barcelona reportedly offering 32 million euros ($34 million) to sign the 33-year-old.
