Ireland pipped by Zimbabwe in agonising fashion

Zimbabwe tailender Blessing Muzarabani inflicted an agonising one-wicket defeat on Ireland by claiming two decisive runs off the final ball in a dramatic opening T20 international in Harare. Having posted 147 for eight from their 20 overs, the tourists led by a single run ahead of the ultimate delivery of a nail-biting contest. Muzarabani, who had just come to the crease following Mark Adair's stunning catch to dismiss Richard Ngarava, delivered in fortuitous fashion as his unintentional inside edge off the bowling of Barry McCarthy deceived wicketkeeper Lorcan Tucker to run to fine leg. Ireland were on the cusp of a famous victory after defying the heroics of Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza to take an engrossing match to the wire. All-rounder Raza hit 65 off 42 balls, having earlier taken three wickets for 28, including removing Ireland opener Andy Balbirnie for 32. Craig Young, Josh Little, Adair, who had man of the match Raza caught by skipper Paul Stirling in the penultimate over, and McCarthy claimed two wickets apiece for the away team on a remarkable evening. Yet Ireland go into Saturday's second T20 at the same venue behind in the series following the heartbreaking finish, which moved Zimbabwe on to a victorious 148 for nine.

India-Ireland 3rd T20I Called-off Due To Rain, Jasprit Bumrah-Led Side Clinches Series 2-0

The third T20I between India and Ireland scheduled for Wednesday at Dublin was called off due to rain without a ball being bowled. With this, India has captured the series 2-0. The rain was such that both teams could not even get the opportunity to toss the coin and decide who would bat or bowl first. In the first T20I, India won by two runs as per Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. India had reduced the home side to just 139/7 in 20 overs after opting to bowl first.

It was a memorable game for Rinku Singh on Sunday as he batted for the first time for the Indian cricket team. The southpaw made his debut in the rain-hit first T20I against Ireland but he got a chance to bat only in the second game. The hard-hitting batter played a vital knock of 21-ball 38 runs in Dublin. Rinku's cameo gave India's innings a much-needed spark, and his 28-ball 55-run stand with Shivam Dube (22 not out) helped India end with a flourish.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube collided with each other while taking a catch during India's second T20I match against Ireland in Dublin on Sunday. On the final ball of the third over of Ireland's chase against India, Lorcan Tucker mistimed a pull shot on the bowling of Prasidh Krishna.
