March 29 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced the schedule for Pakistan's tour of Ireland for a three-match T20I series. The matches, which are set for May 10, 12, and 14, will take place on Castle Avenue in Dublin.
Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has come out in defence of his son-in-law Shaheen Shah Afridi following speculation that the tall pace bowler was going to be removed as the national T20 captain. "I think that if you have appointed someone as captain (Shaheen) and given him the responsibility then give him time as well," Afridi told the media on Tuesday. "The biggest problem with our cricket is that our system changes whenever the faces change in the board. Whoever comes thinks whatever he is doing is the best for Pakistan cricket," said Afridi.
The Pakistan Cricket Board it appears has lost faith in the ability of Shan Masood and Shaheen Shah Afridi to lead the national side and feels former skipper Babar Azam is the best choice to captain the side once again. While Masood was appointed captain in the Test format, Shaheen was made the T20I skipper.
Peshawar Zalmi were awarded five penalty runs after a throw from the Multan Sultans fielder hit Mohammad Rizwan's wicket-keeping glove which was lying on the ground during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match on Thursday. Zalmi batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore played the ball from spinner Khushdil Shah towards fine-leg and Rizwan dashed from his wicket-keeping stance to retrieve the ball. The ball was ultimately collected by a fielder and his throw hit one of Rizwan's gloves that he took off and threw on the ground while running. Babar Azam, who was in the non-striker's end, pointed it out to umpire Aleem Dar who decided to award five runs as penalty due to 'illegal fielding'.
Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam was involved in a rather funny incident during his side's Pakistan Super League (PSL) match against Karachi Kings on Monday. The incident took place ahead of the start of Karachi Kings' chase when Babar was walking out to field, with Rovman Powell walking besides him and talking to the commentators. Babar was arranging the field for the start of the second innings, with the spider cam following him. However, he got scared by the spider cam's movement as he thought that the device might hit him.

Pakistan YouTuber and cricket expert Wasay Habib launched a fiery rant over comparisons between Babar Azam and legendary Indian cricket team batter Sachin Tendulkar. During an analysis on GTV News, Wasay was asked about some ex-Pakistan cricketers comparing Babar to Sachin but the cricket expert was not convinced.
