LAHORE, Pakistan : Pakistan captain Babar Azam does not think lack of familiarity with Indian conditions would hurt their bid for a second 50-overs World Cup title as they embark on a rare tour of the neighbouring country on Tuesday.

Reports had emerged that Babar was involved in a verbal spat with star pacer Shaheen Afridi, who later quashed the rumours by sharing a picture with Babar, and captioning the post as "family".
Pakistan cricket team players are considering a boycott of sponsor logos and Cricket World Cup 2023 promotional commitments due to ongoing issues with their central contracts, according to a report on Cricket Pakistan. Earlier reports suggested that captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi, were offered a monthly retainership fee PKR 4.5 million each (approx. INR 13.22 lakh). Earlier, the Test cricketers received 1.1 million rupees per month (approx. INR 3.2 lakh), and white-ball players were getting 0.95 million rupees (approx. INR 2.8 lakh). However, the central contracts have not been signed yet and that can result in Pakistan cricketers taking some drastic decisions.

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday held a review meeting of their woeful Asia Cup show in the wake of their World Cup squad announcement. All teams must finalise their 15-player squads for the cricket showpiece before the September 28 deadline, with any replacements after this date requiring approval from the ICC. "The philosophy behind this review was to create an atmosphere of open discussion and develop consensus," PCB chairman of the management committee Zaka Ashraf said in a statement. "The idea is to have everyone on board and debate about performances, identifying the problems and their solutions.” The review meeting was also attended by head coach Mickey Arthur, captain Babar Azam, vice-captain Shadab Khan and former skippers Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez.
