In what was a titanic battle, the closest ever WorldSBK pole margin was set at Magny-Cours with both Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) and Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha) setting an identical pole time although Rea heads the grid courtesy of a faster second-fastest lap time.
Former WorldSBK king Jonathan Rea topped the second and soaking free practice at Magny-Cours, beating Axel Bassani by a second with Kawasaki team-mate and overall fastest man Alex Lowes in third.
Kawasaki’s Alex Lowes topped the opening WorldSBK practice session of the day, with a 1’39.107 set before the heavens opened at Magny-Cours this morning.
