Star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, sources told NDTV. The fast bowler has been out of action since September last year due to a back issue. According to sources, Bumrah may undergo back surgery to fully recover from the problem. The IPL 2023 starts on March 31 and Bumrah's injury has given a big jolt to the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians' plans.

The Asia Cup was initially allotted to Pakistan and was scheduled in September this year but BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, who is also the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman, had announced last October that India will not travel to Pakistan. After that announcement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement that If India don't travel for Asia Cup, Pakistan may not travel for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi believes that even the International Cricket Council (ICC) won't be able to convince the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the issue of Pakistan being the hosts for the 2023 Asia Cup, which is now likely to move out of the country. The BCCI has made it clear that the Indian team won't travel to Pakistan for the tournament because of the tense political relations between the two countries, and the Pakistan Cricket Board reacted by threatning to boycott the ODI World Cup to be held in India later this year.The continental tourney is significant as it is scheduled just before the ODI World Cup, which India is hosting and Pakistan has threatened to boycott in a tit-for-tat riposte."I have no idea, will India visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup? Will we boycott the ODI World Cup in India? But we need to take a stand at some point or the other," Afridi told 'Samaa TV'.

Sri Lankan umpire and former cricketer Kumar Dharmasena left social media baffled with a Valentine's Day post on Facebook. Dharmasena shared two pictures - one with former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and the other with Pakistan board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja - and captioned it "Happy Valentine's to all of you". The pictures seemed to have been taken during a 'World Cricket Commitee' meeting when both Ganguly and Raja were heading the respective cricket boards. Dharmasena found Valentine's Day 2023 as the perfect occasion to share these pictures on his Facebook profile.
