Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma) won a sprint finish against Charlotte Kool (Team DSM) to triumph at Stage 3 of La Vuelta Femenina and extend her overall lead to 13 seconds ahead of Chloe Dygert (Canyon-SRAM). Kool beat Vos to the line on Stage 2, but a day later the tables were turned with Vos showing off her wealth of experience to beat her Dutch compatiot to the line.

Geraint Thomas took third place at the Commonwealth Games time trial on Thursday afternoon despite a huge early setback after falling off his bike. Thomas had been one of the favourites going into the race but suffered a huge setback when he crashed early on. The incident cost him around 30 seconds, and he was 28.49 seconds off gold at the race finish.
