Andy Murray has suffered a sixth consecutive second-round loss at the hands of Daniil Medvedev. The Brit faced the top seed in a blockbuster Miami Open clash but was never able to bother Medvedev, failing to create a break point chance throughout the match as the world No 2 bested him 6-4 6-2 in an hour and 29 minutes. Murray will now be out of action until the grass-court season.

Mats Wilander believes the return of Ivan Lendl can unlock the missing ingredient that could propel Andy Murray back up the world rankings and provide the Scot with a fitting swansong. Rafael Nadal has been praised for his dedication by Ash Barty off the back of her retirement. The world No 1 made the shock decision to walk away from tennis earlier this week despite being the world's current best WTA player and the reigning champion of both Wimbledon and the Australian Open.
Cameron Norrie scored his second career win over compatriot Jack Draper 7-6(5) 6-4 in an all-British affair in the Miami Open second round. Draper had secured his maiden win at Masters 1000 level in his first round against Gilles Simon to set up a battle of the Brits but it was the 10th seed who got the better of the 20-year-old in a repeat of their Queens quarter-final from last year.
