LONDON: Andrey Rublev held his nerve to beat Alexander Bublik in a five-set thriller and reach his first Wimbledon quarterfinal on Sunday after squandering a two-set lead.
Andrey Rublev faced a battle to reach the third round at Wimbledon as he fought back from a set down to avoid an upset against Aslan Karatsev. The seventh seed found himself in trouble after losing an opening set tie-break, but recovered strongly to claim a 6-7(4) 6-3 6-4 7-5 victory in two hours and 52 minutes. Ad Rublev will face wild card David Goffin or Chilean qualifier Tomas Barrios Vera next at SW19.
LONDON : Swiss veteran Stan Wawrinka displayed vintage form at Wimbledon on Thursday to book a third-round clash with holder Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev won a rain-delayed opener as the grasscourt Grand Slam cleared its backlog.

LONDON : Andrey Rublev said he was happy to be welcomed back to Wimbledon after becoming the first returning Russian through to the second round by beating Australian Max Purcell on Monday.
HALLE, Germany :Kazakh Alexander Bublik broke Alexander Zverev once in each set to power past the German 6-3 7-5 on Saturday and reach the Halle Open final.
Roberto Bautista Agut produced an outstanding performance to prevail against top seed Daniil Medvedev 7-5 7-6(3) once again to advance to the semi-final of the Halle Open. The Spaniard has now won five of the eight matches in which the pair have contested and sends the Russian crashing out in Germany in what is a blow to his confidence ahead of Wimbledon. Ad Bautista Agut’s reward for a first victory over a top 10 ranked opponent since the first week of 2023 is a semi-final match against Andrey Rublev, who had to come from a set down to beat Tallon Griekspoor 3-6 6-3 6-4.
