European football chiefs have opened an investigation into Juventus, hours after it was revealed that the Turin prosecutor’s office had requested indictments for former president Andrea Agnelli and 10 other former board members as well as the club itself amid allegations of false accounting.
Prosecutors in Italy have requested that former Juventus Chairman Andrea Agnelli, 11 other people and the soccer club itself stand trial over allegations of false accounting, a senior source with direct knowledge of the matter said on Thursday.
TURIN, Italy: The Turin prosecutor’s office has requested indictments of former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, 10 other former board members, and the club following an investigation into alleged false accounting. Former vice president Pavel Nedved and CEO Maurizio Arrivabene — who left the club on Monday when Agnelli and the entire board of directors resigned — are also named, as is former Juventus director of sport Fabio Paratici, who has moved to Tottenham.
