STUTTGART (Germany): Andy Murray reached his first quarter-final in six months on Thursday as the unseeded Briton defeated Alexander Bublik 6-3, 7-6 (7/4) at the Stuttgart grass court tournament. Murray won the opening set against his Kazakh opponent but had to come from 5-2 down in the second to clinch the win.
Canada's Denis Shapovalov was eliminated early once again.
Andy Murray overcame Alexander Bublik 6-3, 7-6(4) at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, in a hard-fought victory over the tournament’s seventh seed. The former world No. 1 saved three set points in the second set to recover from 2-5 down, winning the match in one hour and 42 minutes.

It was a case of ‘no grass shoes, no problem’ for Nick Kyrgios at the Stuttgart Open. The Australian is back on the ATP Tour for the first time since April this week, but his preparation for the grass swing did not get off to the best start. Ad/> Kyrgios’ bags went missing on his way from Australia to Stuttgart and he had to play in clay-court shoes during his doubles win with Alexander Bublik.
STUTTGART (Germany): Andy Murray won his first match at the ATP event in Stuttgart on Tuesday, while Nick Kyrgios made a triumphant return after sitting out the European clay-court season. Murray overcame a slow first-round start on grass as he defeated Christopher O'Connell 6-4, 6-3 and Kyrgios dominated Czech youngster Jiri Lehecka 7-6 (7/3), 6-3. The colourful Australian barely had enough gear to make it onto court, with his tennis bag showing up on Monday while his all-important grass shoes only arrived at the tournament site with an hour to spare before his match.
