A Roshn Saudi League campaign like no other is in the books.
RIYADH: Thanks to the efforts of Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Hilal, the Roshn Saudi League title race was blown wide open on Tuesday evening. At half-time, Al-Ittihad were 2-1 ahead at Al-Hilal and seven points clear of Al-Nassr in second.
Al-Taawoun defeated Al-Ittihad 2-1 on Wednesday, stunning the league leaders and blowing the Roshn Saudi League title race wide open.
After the mid-to-late-season stutter, Al Hilal seem to have found their footing exactly when needed.
Al Hilal warmed up for this week’s Asian Champions League final by securing their place in the King’s Cup showpiece with an extra-time victory against Al Ittihad on Sunday night.
Al-Hilal defeated Al-Ittihad 1-0 on Sunday to move into the King’s Cup final courtesy of a late own goal from Ahmed Hegazi. JEDDAH: Ahmed Hegazi was both hero and villain for Al-Ittihad as they drew 1-1 with Al-Shabab in the top of the table clash in the Saudi Professional League on Monday. The Al-Ittihad defender gave a penalty away in the first half from which Cristian Guanca put the hosts ahead but then moments later, he struck in the opposite area to earn a hard-fought point to take back to Jeddah.
