The 110th edition of the Tour de France is fast approaching and the excitement is building for the most prestigious cycling race in the world. Jonas Vingegaard warned his rivals he can get even better after continuing his Tour de France preparations by winning the Criterium du Dauphine in commanding fashion. The Jumbo-Visma rider finished two minutes and 23 seconds ahead of Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates) – the biggest winning margin at the race since 1993. Ad Vingegaard won two stages and on the last stage dropped Yates and the rest of the favourites on a steep finish.
Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) wrapped up the overall title at the Criterium de Dauphine after another virtuoso climbing display on the final stage. The Dane shrugged off attacks from Britain’s Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates) on Stage 8 before pulling away from his closest GC challenger on the sharp final climb to the Bastille Fortress. Ad Lone breakaway survivor Giulio Ciccone (Trek-Segafredo) held off Vingegaard on the double-digit gradients to take the stage victory by 22 seconds.

Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) edged Remco Evenepoel (Soudal–Quick-Step) in an uphill drag race to win Stage 1 at Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, although his win was overshadowed by a nasty crash in the closing stages. Roglic, who arrived in north-east Spain on the back of victory at Tirreno-Adriatico, took advantage after Jumbo team-mates Steven Kruijswijk and Tobias Foss had ramped up the pace on the final circuit to weed out the fast men. Ad It was a thrilling showdown between the two favourites for the Giro d'Italia in May, but a crash with 5.5km remaining will attract attention after six riders were left on the floor.
Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) saw off a bunch of big-hitters in an electric uphill finish on Stage 4 at Tirreno-Adriatico, just minutes after team-mate Wout van Aert and Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) had collided and crashed. In an appetiser for Friday’s summit finish in Sarnano-Sassotetto, Roglic proved the strongest on the final slog to see off the fast-finishing Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal-QuickStep) and Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates).
Team Jumbo-Visma have confirmed that Slovenian superstar Primoz Roglic will return to action at Tirreno-Adriatico 2023 after undergoing shoulder surgery at the end of 2022. It had been initially thought that Roglic would return to action at the Volta a Catalunya but he was part of Jumbo's team announcement for Tirreno-Adriatico.
