CHARLOTTE, N.C. : The United States will not clinch the Presidents Cup on Saturday but continued to close in on the golden trophy after splitting the morning foursomes (alternate shot) 2-2 with a scrappy International team desperate to get back into the fight.
Canada's Corey Conners and partner Sungjae Im of South Korea lost the day's first match at the Presidents Cup as the United States took a 10-4 lead overall.

The United States maintained their grip on the Presidents Cup, but the Internationals showed some fight during the Saturday foursomes to ensure the match will go into a final day. Davis Love III’s USA dominated the opening two days to eke out an 8-2 advantage, and at one stage on Saturday morning there was the prospect of the match being wrapped up before Sunday’s singles.
