We are just days away from opening night of the 2023-24 NHL season on Oct. 10, featuring a tripleheader on ESPN and ESPN+: Nashville Predators-Tampa Bay Lightning (5:30 p.m. ET), Chicago Blackhawks-Pittsburgh Penguins (8 p.m. ET) and Seattle Kraken-Vegas Golden Knights (10:30 p.m. ET), the latter of which will include the Knights' Stanley Cup banner-raising ceremony.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Matvei Michkov is the agent of chaos for the 2023 NHL draft. Or the X factor. Or the player with the highest ceiling outside of Connor Bedard, the generational talent expected to be the first overall pick.
It's a big week for the NHL. Tonight, the annual awards show will anoint the winners of the Hart, Vezina, Calder and Norris trophies. Wednesday is Round 1 of the draft (7 p.m. ET, ESPN and ESPN+), while free agency begins on Saturday at noon ET.
The 2023 NHL draft is taking place on June 28 and 29 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The first round will be televised on ESPN and ESPN+, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Rounds 2 through 7 will begin at 11 a.m. ET on the NHL Network, and will also be available on ESPN+.
