"Gone Too Long...": Ex-Australia Star Suggests Big Rule Change For ODI Cricket

Former Australian cricket team batter Aaron Finch believes that ODI matches should be reduced to 40 overs a side in order to bring back interest to the format. In the recent times, a lot of questions have been asked about the relevance of the format with the growing popularity of T20s. In a recent discussion, Finch said that teams bowl 11 or 12 overs per hour in ODI matches and the slow over rate has resulted in spectators losing interest. He added that there is a chance that the cricket fans may end up calling ODI games a 'glorified T20' and as a result, a 40-over format may be beneficial for the future.

"Can't See India Winning T20 World Cup Unless...": Ex-Australia Captain's 'Virat Kohli' Warning

Former Australian cricket team captain Tim Paine expressed his concern for Team India ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 and even served them a warning concerning star batter Virat Kohli. India are one of the firm favourites ahead of the competition but Paine believes that the campaign will depend heavily on how Kohli ends up performing.  Paine, in conversation with fellow countrymen Aaron Finch and Michael Clarke on the 'Around the Wicket' podcast, compared Kohli to Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and said that if the India star fails to perform, Rohit and Co will not be able to win the title.

"Hardik Booed For 8 Games, Would've Loved To See Rohit...": Ex-Australia Star On Captaincy Row

It has been a disappointing IPL 2024 season for both Hardik Pandya and Mumbai Indians. The five-time champions became the first team to get eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoffs race and skipper Hardik was the one who faced the majority of criticism. Hardik completed a sensational move to MI from Gujarat Titans and replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain ahead of the new season. However, the decision was not taken well by a section of the fanbase and the dismal form of the side only led to the negative reactions towards Hardik.

"Hardik Pandya Looks Flattened, Drained": T20 WC Winning Captain's Hard Take On MI Skipper

India vice-captain Hardik Pandya looks drained, flattened, under pressure and Mumbai Indians looks like a confused unit under him, reckons former cricketers Aaron Finch and Greame Smith as five-time champions continue to struggle in the IPL. Pandya once again walked out to loud boos around the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday during Mumbai Indians' yet another disappointing outing, which they lost by 24 runs to Kolkata Knight Riders.

Why BCCI Snubbed Rinku Singh From T20 World Cup Top-15? Sunil Gavaskar Says, "Hasn't Been Great In..."

Big-hitter Rinku Singh not finding a place in the main India squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the Americas surprised the likes of former all-rounder Irfan Pathan and ex-Australia skipper Aaron Finch, but the legendary Sunil Gavaskar attributed it to the left-handed batter's poor form in the ongoing IPL. The BCCI on Tuesday announced a 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies in June, keeping the hard-hitting middle-order batter, who has played 15 T20Is, in the reserves, along with Shubman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.

"Intent To Hit Boundaries Goes Out": Ex RCB Star Aaron Finch On Virat Kohli's Strike-Rate

Royal Challengers Bengaluru returned to winning ways with a victory against high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Batting first, RCB managed to put over 200 runs on the board, with Virat Kohli contributing 51 runs. But, it was Rajat Patidar who bagged the Player of the Match award, having also scored a half-century, but at a much higher strike-rate in comparison. As RCB's batting ended, an intense chatter around Kohl's intent and strike-rate began, with the star batter getting criticised for his 43-ball 51. (IPL 2024 Points Table)

"Wild Card" MS Dhoni Gets Backing For T20 World Cup 2024 Selection

The most formidable finisher in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, as far as statistics are concerned, MS Dhoni has rolled back the years with his performances this year. The veteran wicket-keeper batter is dealing in boundaries, scoring runs over a strike-rate of 250 while he is yet to be dismissed this year. As the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors look to narrow down their search for the 15 players for the T20 World Cup 2024, some experts have floated the idea of selecting MS Dhoni.

Aaron Finch Hits Bulls Eye As He Explains What Exactly Is Wrong With RCB

With just one win in eight matches, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are on the brink of early elimination from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. India's T20 World Cup Squad: Three Under-Performing Stars Issued Big Warning By WC Winner

The IPL 2024 is at its halfway stage. By now, there appears a clear demarcation between the teams which are top performing from the laggards. Rajasthan Royals, SunRisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders are the top three sides while Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the bottom three sides. This time the IPL holds extra significance. Just after the IPL 2024, the Indian cricket team will compete at the T20 World Cup 2024.
