ZURICH: Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce stormed to victory in the women's 100m at the Diamond League final in Zurich on Thursday (Sep 8) to claim her fifth win in the season-ending event and American Trayvon Bromell triumphed in the men's race.
While Aaron Brown prepared in April for his seventh season on the Diamond League track and field circuit, he envisioned being on the start line in the 100 and 200 metres for the first time at the season-ending event. This week, the healthy and fit sprinter imagines a top-three finish at Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich.
Jamaica's Shericka Jackson stormed to victory in the women's 100 metres at the Diamond League meet in Brussels on Friday, handing compatriot and twice Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce her first defeat of the season by one-hundredth of a second.
After a sixth-place finish in Lausanne last week, 18-year-old phenom Erriyon Knighton bounced back with a win in the 200m at the Brussels Diamond League, the final meet of the season before the two-day final in Zurich. Knighton ran 20.07, edging out second-place Alexander Ogando of the Dominican Republic and Canada’s Aaron Brown. The 2022 Diamond League action continues this Friday, September 2 in Brussels, Belgium with an encore presentation Saturday, September 3.
