Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said on Saturday he hoped the process to find a new owner for the Premier League club would be completed "as soon as possible". Speaking after his side reached the FA Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 win at second-tier Middlesbrough, Tuchel was asked about the off-field turmoil in the wake of Russian owner Roman Abramovich's decision to put the club up for sale. "I hope that the process will go through as soon as possible to clear the situation and to calm the situation down and give everybody an outlook to the nearer future," he said.
Lamont Marcell Jacobs trumped American rival Christian Coleman for 60m gold on the second day of the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade on Saturday, while Yaroslava Mahuchikh claimed a memorable high jump title for war-ravaged Ukraine. Jacobs had been a surprise winner of track's blue riband event at last summer's Tokyo Games where he also won gold as part of Italy's 4x100m relay quartet. Thomas Tuchel saluted Chelsea's focus as they reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the third successive season after Romelu Lukaku inspired a 2-0 win against Championship side Middlesbrough on Saturday. In what could have been a potential upset, Tuchel's team were never troubled as they made it six successive victories since Roman Abramovich put the European champions up for sale. Unsettled Belgian striker Lukaku opened the scoring with just his second goal in seven games. Hakim Ziyech increased Chelsea's advantage before the interval at the Riverside Stadium.
