The second-seeded team of Ramkumar and Myneni downed the gutsy Korean pair of Seongchan Hong and Soonwoo Kwon 6-1 6-7(8) 10-0 to move to the title clash. Myneni will now gun for his second Asian Games gold, having won a mixed doubles yellow metal with Sania Mirza in the 2014 edition.

Indian men's team dished out a consistent effort to be placed third on the chart with 86.40 points, but women's and mixed sides disappointed after an underwhelming show in the bridge competition of the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Thursday. The Indians started the day with two easy wins. The men's team outclassed South Korea 16.03-3.97 in the round robin 1-5 round. In the same round, the India's mixed team scored a 14.85-5.15 win over Indonesia.In the men's round robin (1-6) round, India lost to Japan 9.03 to 10.97 points. The mixed team drew with Chinese Taipei 10-10.

Star Indian paddlers Manika Batra, Sharath Kamal and G Sathiyan dominated their opponents en route their pre-quarterfinals entry in the table tennis competition at the Asian Games on Thursday. Sharath, a team bronze winner in 2018 Asian Games, never gave a chance to Mohammed Shaffan Ismail, his opponent from Maldives before winning 11-9, 11-2, 11-7, 11-7. Sathiyan, who had won a bronze medal in the team event in Jakarta Games 2018, too was equally overwhelming against Turki Lafi Almutairi of Saudi Arabia while registering a 11-5, 11-6, 11-9, 11-2 victory. The Saudi player tried to claw his way back in the third set going closer to the Indian at 9-7, but Sathiyan's experience proved at the crucial juncture. In the fourth game, Sathiyan just brushed aside his rival giving away just two points.
