American Chris Nilsen took silver with a bet of 5.94m on countback from Ernest Obiang, whose bronze was a first world medal of any colour for the Philippines.

EUGENE, Ore. : Sweden's Armand Duplantis broke his own men's pole vault world record on Sunday, jumping 6.21 metres on his second attempt at the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Oregon's World Championships campaign with two unfinished business - the title glory and the elusive 90m mark. While the 90m effort is within striking distance, it's the Worlds crown for which he now has to wait until August 2023 when it will happen in Hungary's Budapest. Still, Neeraj isn't complaining. He is happy with his show at Eugene but determined to change the colour of the medal next time around.
