The 2023 NFL draft is getting close, and I've been watching a ton of tape on the class' top prospects to prepare for the three-day event at the end of April. This class has a lot to like across the board, but a few players always seem to emerge as my favorites every spring. This year, five potential first-rounders and five sleepers who will likely get picked on Day 2 stood out for me. These are guys I'd be targeting if I were running an NFL team and players I think have a really good chance to be stars in the pros.
It used to be rare for a rookie wide receiver to make a big impact, but that paradigm is changing. A rookie wide receiver with 1,000 receiving yards may now be a perennial occurrence. Every NFL draft since 2019 has had a rookie receiver hit the 1,000-yard mark, and the 2022 draft had two (although that may partially be a function of the league moving to a 17-game season).
Ohio State has had no issues recruiting top-tier offensive players under Ryan Day, and the staff continued its success on Saturday when quarterback Air Noland announced his commitment to the Buckeyes for the 2024 season.
