College football Week 8 is here, and I couldn't be more pumped.
The NCAA football rules committee issued guidance Wednesday to close a loophole that allowed second-ranked Oregon to exploit an illegal substitution penalty late in its victory over Ohio State to take time off the clock.
When the college football schedules were made and set for this season, Oct. 12 was one of the dates we all circled. We anticipated that day for months, and it certainly delivered.
The NCAA is closing the loophole used by Oregon to shave time off the game clock at the end of Saturday's win over Ohio State.

A week ago, we found ourselves suddenly down to 12 unbeaten college football teams following a particularly madcap Week 6. The remaining members of the club regrouped, however. In Week 7, the only loss for an unbeaten (Ohio State) came at the hands of another (Oregon), and everyone else was either on bye or survived and advanced.
