The 2024-25 College Football Playoff bracket moves on to the quarterfinals on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Second-round action kicks off on Dec. 31 when No. 3 seed Boise State take on No. 6 seed Penn State in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl (7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN). The playoff action continues with three games Saturday, starting with No. 4 Arizona State against No. 5 Texas in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl (1 p.m. ET on ESPN). That's followed by perhaps the biggest game of the quarterfinal round when No. 1 seed Oregon battles No. 8 seed Ohio State for the second time this season. The final game of the night features No. 2 Georgia, led by backup QB Gunner Stockton against Riley Leonard and No. 7 Notre Dame (8:45 p.m. ET on ESPN).
Jason Myers kicked two field goals and Seattle's defence did the rest as the Seahawks kept their slim NFL play-off hopes alive with a 6-3 victory against Chicago Bears on a rainy night at Soldier Field.

There are two weeks left in the 2024 NFL regular season, and the playoff picture is almost complete. Thirteen teams are already eliminated from the postseason, and nine have clinched berths.
There are 16 games on the Week 17 schedule and they're spread out over five days of football and eight stand-alone games, beginning Christmas Day with the Kansas City Chiefs at the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens at the Houston Texans. While all four teams have clinched a playoff berth, the Chiefs will be looking to clinch the AFC and home field throughout the playoffs while the Steelers and Ravens are battling for the AFC North title, both teams having a 10-5 record and having split their season series.
Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season is here, so we're almost at the finish line. It's crunch time for many teams looking to break into the playoffs by claiming a spot in the wild-card race. So which teams are trending upward?
