By mid-November, most college football teams are what they are. But each squad has areas that can be sharpened for the stretch run, especially those in the top 25.
In one of the wildest finishes of the season, Indiana managed to keep its undefeated season alive with a late drive against Penn State. Most other teams in the top 10, though, won with little trouble. In the only top-10 vs. top-10 matchup, Texas Tech dominated BYU. And after its quarterback left the game with an injury, Virginia lost to Wake Forest in a low-scoring affair.
The Texas Longhorns returned to the top 10 of the Associated Press college football poll on Sunday, while the ACC has five teams ranked for the first time this season and two Group of 5 conferences are now represented with a month before the College Football Playoff bracket is set.
