Former India skipper Virat Kohli is arguably the fittest cricketer in the world. As a result, he has inspired several Indian, and overseas players. The newest addition to that list is Sri Lanka batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who has decided to seek fitness advice from Kohli, having been dropped from the national team. Rajapaksa, who is currently part of the Punjab Kings franchise, scored a fine knock of 43 off 22 balls to help his team register a win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
With AB de Villiers no more a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Virat Kohli shared a wholesome moment with Faf du Plessis during Match 6 of the ongoing IPL 2022 season, at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. With Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at 83 for six in 11.3 overs after a top-order collapse, the duo exchanged a wholesome hug which made fans emotional on social media. Such was the hug that many fans compared du Plessis to de Villiers, who shared a close bond with Kohli during his IPL career. Here is the video of Kohli and Du Plessis exchanging a hug:
For several years, Yuzvendra Chahal was the strike bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), picking key wickets and doing so in heaps. However, he was released by the franchise ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and not bought back in the Mega Auction, with the team opting to spend big on Sri Lankan leg-spinning all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga. Chahal was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the auction, and he had a brilliant debut for them, picking three wickets against SunRisers Hyderabad. However, his ties with his old franchise remain strong as was displayed during RCB's match against KKR on Wednesday.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga put on a display of world-class bowling as he ended with a four-wicket haul against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 6 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The KKR batters found it hard to deal with the googlies and pace variations Hasaranga had to offer and failed to read him off the deck on quite a handful of occasions. The Sri Lankan bowler made fun use of this opportunity as he continued to bowl fuller while mixing it up and cramping the batters for any room.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is off to a brilliant start with 10 teams going head-to-head, competing for the title this time around. With competition becoming intense, long-standing records are getting surpassed while new feats are being achieved with each passing day. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who continues to be a crucial member of the team, is at the cusp of breaking a huge IPL bowling record currently shared with Lasith Malinga. At the start of IPL 2022, Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga held the record of having the most wickets taken in IPL history, with 170 wickets. However, Bravo reminded everyone that he wasn't far off and equalled the said record with a brilliant three-wicket haul in CSK's first game of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga returned figures of 4-20 to set up a three-wicket victory for Royal Challengers Bangalore in a low-scoring Indian Premier League thriller against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday.
Royal Challengers Bangalore batters overcame some nervy moments after leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga spun his way to a four-wicket haul to register a three-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in a low-scoring IPL match here on Wednesday. Hasaranga lived up to his Rs 10.75 crore price tag as his four-wicket burst helped RCB dismiss KKR for 128. The Sri Lankan was ably supported by the pace trio of Akash Deep (3/45), Harshal Patel (2/11) and Mohammed Siraj (1/25) after RCB won the toss and elected to bowl at DY Patil Stadium here.
