Green, a batting all-rounder, stood out with his fifth Test half-century in the team's crushing win last week to go 1-0 up in the two-match series. Australia's first innings total of 321 saw man-of-the-match Green make 77, with Usman Khawaja and wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey also taking the attack to the opposition bowlers.

Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan will be in action when the second season of the Legends League Cricket returns in September with four teams and 110 International players on board, the organisers announced on Tuesday. All-rounder Deepti Sharma and opener Shafali Verma have made significant improvements to their positions after helping India take an unassailable 2-0 lead against Sri Lanka in the three-match ICC Women's Championship (IWC) series being played in Pallekele.

Uncapped spinners Maheesh Theekshana and Dinuth Wellalage were on Tuesday drafted into Sri Lanka's Covid-hit squad for the second Test against Australia. Left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama on Monday tested positive for coronavirus after former captain Angelo Mathews had to pull out on the third day of the opening Test with Covid. Both the players are in isolation and the rest of the squad have tested negative, Sri Lanka Cricket said.
