The tournament was moved out of Sri Lanka due to ongoing economic crisis. India, the defending champions, will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their first match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on August 28. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will take on Afghanistan in the tournament opener on August 27, while the final will be played on September 11. UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong will be playing a Qualifier for the 6th and final spot in Asia Cup 2022.

"The wait is finally over as the battle for Asian supremacy commences on 27th August with the all-important final on 11th September. The 15th edition of the Asia Cup will serve as ideal preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup," Shah tweeted while releasing the fixture.
