Pakistan have been handed a major boost ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia with pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi set to join the team for warm-up games against England and Afghanistan, the country's cricket board (PCB) said on Tuesday.
South Africa collapsed to 99 all out in the third ODI against India in Delhi. The total was their fourth lowest in ODIs since they started playing in the format in 1991.
Afridi, 22, has been sidelined since sustaining a ligament injury to his right knee during a test match in Sri Lanka in July, missing the Asia Cup and home series against England. "Shaheen is now available for selection for the 17 and 19 October warm-up matches against England and Afghanistan, respectively during which his match fitness will be assessed by the team management," the PCB said in a statement.
Dan Christian have joined the Netherlands cricket team as consultants for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. Having qualified for the T20 World Cup in July, the Dutch will take on the United Arab Emirates, Namibia and Sri Lanka in the Group stage matches on October 16, 18 and 20 respectively. Top two teams from the Group stage will qualify for the Super 12s. "We are very excited to welcome both Gary Kirsten and Dan Christian to our coaching staff for the T20 World Cup," Royal Dutch Cricket Federation (KNCB) high performance manager Roland Lefebvre said in a statement. "They bring in a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table which will be of great help in the lead-up to and during the World Cup."

Sharma's spectacular few months continued as she vaulted into the top three of the Women's T20I Bowling Rankings, displacing West Indies' in-form star Hayley Matthews, South African pacer Shabnim Ismail, and Australia's Megan Schutt.
