Jhye Richardson To Miss IPL 2023 Due To Injury, Unlikely To Play Ashes Series

Australian quick Jhye Richardson will be missing the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is also likely to miss the Ashes series against England after undergoing surgery to overcome issues in his hamstring. Richardson suffered a recurrence of hamstring issues while playing club cricket last week, during his attempt to return to action after pulling his hamstring during the Big Bash League (BBL). He was also ruled out of the ODI series against India starting from March 17. He took the surgery option in order to find a long-term solution.

Virat Kohli impressed everyone with his gritty batting display on Day 3 of the fourth Test between India and Australia in Ahmedabad on Saturday as the star batsman slammed a Test fifty after almost 14 months. Although the final Test in the four-match series has been a hotly contested affair till now, Kohli ended up sharing a light moment with Australia stand-in skipper Steve Smith. In a video which has now gone viral on social media, Kohli was seen having a conversation with Smith who went on to check out Kohli's bat. Smith knocked on the bat to check something and was then joined by Marnus Labuschagne who also had a conversation with a smiling Kohli.

It was a good outing for Virat Kohli on Day 3 of the fourth Test match between India and Australia in Ahmedabad as the star batsman scored his first Test half-century in almost 14 months. The last time Kohli scored a fifty in the longest format of the game was back in January 2022 against South Africa. In the process, Kohli also became the fifth Indian cricketer to score 4000 runs at home after Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag. He was the third-fastest to reach the milestone after Sehwag and Tendulkar but became the one with the best average (58.82).

A stubborn century from Daryl Mitchell, a blazing 72 from Matt Henry and three wickets to Blair Tickner swung the momentum New Zealand's way in the first Test against Sri Lanka on Saturday. Sri Lanka had claimed the initiative on the first two days of the Christchurch Test but were 83 for three in their second innings at stumps on day three, a lead of 65 runs. Angelo Mathews was not out 20, with Prabath Jayasuriya also at the crease on two. New Zealand had recovered from 151 for five to be all out for 373, an 18-run lead, after a dogged 102 from Mitchell. Henry's swashbuckling performance included 58 runs from boundaries.
