Roshibina Devi has also guaranteed India of at least bronze in Wushu. The Indian men's hockey team will be in action on Tuesday with more medals up for grabs in shooting. India face Pakistan in men's volleyball while Bhavani Devi will start her campaign in fencing at the Asian Games 2023.
Star India player Smriti Mandhana on Monday was ecstatically happy at winning a gold medal at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou and said that she had tears in her eyes when the national anthem was played. Mandhana said that it was a very special moment for her and was happy to contribute to India's medal tally in the multi-sport event. "This is very special. We have seen this on TV. When Neeraj Chopra won the Gold, I had a match... the manner in which the National Anthem was played and India's National Flag went up, I think it was pretty special and I had tears in my eyes... really happy that we could contribute to the medal tally of the Indian contingent... gold is gold... really happy that we gave our best today," Mandhana said ANI.

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sachithra Senanayake was given bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's court in Colombo on Monday. He was arrested by the Sports Corruption Investigation Unit and later remanded by the court early this month over match-fixing allegations, besides being banned from travelling overseas by the court. He played a solitary Test, 49 ODIs and 24 T20 Internationals between 2012 and 2016. The court granted him bail on a couple of personal sureties of Sri Lankan Rupees 5 million each, as he had not attempted to influence evidence against him.

Sri Lanka Cricket's medical panel head Arjuna de Silva gave an update on Wanindu Hasaranga's injury and said that the team management is currently consulting foreign doctors to check whether the players need surgery or not and it is likely that he will miss the upcoming ODI World Cup in India.
