India Aim For Better Returns Against England In Women's T20I Series

India will look to draw confidence from recent performances and improve their disappointing bilateral record against England when the two teams face-off in a three-match women's T20I series, starting on Wednesday. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led India have had a successful year in the shortest format so far, winning the gold medal in the Asian Games, an away series against Bangladesh by 2-1 and also making it to the final of the triangular series in South Africa, with West Indies as the third side.

Glenn Maxwell Eyes Off Shock Red-Ball Return For World Test Championship Series

Limited-overs specialist Glenn Maxwell has not given up hope of making a return to Test cricket and is eyeing off an away series on the subcontinent at the end of the current ICC cycle as his best opportunity to do so. Maxwell has played just seven Tests for his country, with every one of those red-ball contests coming outside Australia and his most recent appearance more than six years ago. In that time Maxwell played a major role in helping Australia claim their inaugural ICC Men's T20 World Cup title in Dubai in 2021 and then starred once again during the Aussies' recent successful ICC Men's Cricket World Cup campaign in India.

SLC Files Anti-Graft Commission Plaint Against Ex-Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe

The Sri Lanka Cricket on Monday filed a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against the country's former sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe over the alleged misuse of funds released by the SLC to develop other disciplines. The Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe had removed Ranasinghe from the post on November 27. “The decision to file this complaint stems from the concern that Roshan Ranasinghe MP has not appropriately disclosed the utilization of funds allocated by SLC for the intended purposes,” the Lankan board said in a press release. “This comes in the wake of a discernible disparity between the information disclosed to the media by Ranasinghe MP and the response received by SLC under a Right to Information (RTI) application, outlining the specifics of the expenditures made,” the release added.

Heavy rainfall due to Cyclone Michaung caused severe waterlogging in several areas across Chennai on Monday, December 4. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the storm, currently over the Bay of Bengal, is likely to head towards the Andhra Pradesh coast and is expected to make landfall between Nellore and Machilipatnam on Tuesday noon. Reacting to a viral video of Chennai being waterlogged, Theekshana expressed solidarity with the people who have been affected by the flooding.

Shai Hope Guides West Indies Past England In 1st ODI

Shai Hope's 16th hundred and the rampaging support of all-rounder Romario Shepherd lifted the West Indies to a record-breaking four-wicket victory in a high-scoring opening duel of the three-match One-Day International series at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Sunday. Set a daunting target of 326 by the visitors, the home captain anchored the effort through an unsteady period and then exploded with an array of mighty strokes, finishing the match with three sixes off Sam Curran in the penultimate over to seal the result with an unbeaten 109.
