Table Tennis: Manika Batra, Manush Shah-Manav Thakkar Pair Bow Out Of Asian Games

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Manika Batra produced an error-filled game to get knocked out in the quarterfinals of the women's singles table tennis competition at the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Saturday. Manika went down against world No. 4 Yidi Wang of China 8-11, 12-10, 6-11, 4-11, 14-12, 5-11 and her defeat also marked the end of India's campaign in the singles event at the Hangzhou Games. The ace Indian paddler lost the first game 8-11, as she showed a distinct weakness on her backhand.

Asian Games: India Lose In Men's And Women's Roller Skating Final

Indian skaters Anandkumar Velkumar, Siddhant Kamble, Aarathy Kasturi Raj, and Heeral Sadhu failed to secure a medal in the men's and women's roller skating final at the ongoing Asian Games 2023 on Saturday. In the men's final, Anandkumar missed out on a speed skating medal after he clocked 15:40.978 in the men's speed skating 10000m point-elimination race at Hangzhou. The 20-year-old scored four points, short of only seven points to get a podium, and ranked sixth in the race.

Kingdom’s Youssef Masrahi qualifies for 400-meter final at Asian Games

HANGZHOU, China: Saudi athlete Youssef Masrahi has qualified for the final of the men’s 400-meters at the 19th Asian Games. The Asian record holder secured his place in the medal race after finishing second in his semifinal at the Olympic Stadium on Friday in a time of 45.64 seconds. Japan’s Sato Fuga won the race in 45.56. Masrahi took the gold medal in the 400 at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, where he also broke the Asian record with a time of 44.46. His teammate, Mazen Alyassin, failed to qualify for the 400 final after coming home fourth in his semifinal in a time of 46.13. Meanwhile, Saudi sprinter Abdullah Abkar made it through to the semifinals of the 100-meters after finishing fourth in his heat in a time of 10.30.
