Delhi Capitals' assistant coach Shane Watson on Wednesday confirmed that Australia opener David Warner and tearaway South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje are available for their clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium on Thursday. The news comes in as a big boost for Delhi, who are seeking to bounce back from the 14-run loss to Gujarat Titans at Pune on Saturday. "David Warner is definitely out of quarantine period now and is available for tomorrow night's game, which is very exciting. Anrich Nortje has been doing incredibly well over the last couple of weeks since he's arrived here in India. Last night, he passed his last sort of fitness test to get through and be passed fit for selection," said Watson in the pre-match virtual press conference.

Umran Malik a lot as we talk about Jasprit Bumrah. He is a serious, serious talent," said former India opener Gautam Gambhir to ESPNCricinfo last year when the Jammu and Kashmir pacer clocked a 152.95kph delivery in his debut IPL season. Along with Gambhir, many other legends of the game and pundits were also mighty impressed with what Umran gave a glimpse of last year in the 3 matches he played in T20 cricket's biggest league. Watching Umran bowl five consecutive deliveries at more than 150 clicks last season in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore was something fans in India still talk about. After all, it's not a very common sight. And when that happened, it gave the entire nation something unique and special to cheer about. Cut to April 2022, Umran once again is the buzz of the town. Just a couple of games in IPL 2022 so far and the 22-year-old has taken the cricketing world by storm again. The searing pace with which Umran has been bowling is increasingly becoming too hot to handle for the batters.
Lions United Rugby Championship assistant coach Albert van den Berg said they need to find a way to get their mindsets right for South African derbies.
Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis on Tuesday backed his teammate Dinesh Karthik to make another India comeback following the wicketkeeper batter's match-winning knock against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL in Mumbai. Karthik smashed an unbeaten 44 of 23 balls to fire RCB to a four wicket win after a batting collapse that put his team in deep trouble. Shahbaz Ahmed also made a crucial 45 off 26 balls to set up the win. "DK is playing his best cricket. I think he needs to put his name back into international cricket, doesn't he," said du Plessis at the post-match presentation.
English Premiership club Sale Sharks confirmed on Tuesday that Rugby World Cup winners Faf de Klerk and Lood de Jager will be leaving at the end of the season.
