Tiger Woods cards 71 on return to Masters

Tiger Woods made an impressive return at the 86th Masters with a one-under 71 to lie four shots behind Sungjae Im, who emerged as the sole leader after the opening round at Augusta National. As Woods was hanging in for an even par front nine, his playing partner Joaquin Niemann from Mexico got a big cheer as he holed his second shot from 105 yards on the Par-4 ninth for an eagle and became the first player to reach 3-under for the tournament. Niemann was playing alongside Woods and 2005 Open winner, Louis Ooosthuizen of South Africa, who was one-over through nine as a massive gallery followed the group.

IPL 2022, LSG vs DC: Lucknow Super Giants call the shots against Delhi Capitals

Quinton de Kock's 52-ball 80 helps Lucknow to tense 6-wicket win over Delhi Capitals on tricky pitchQuinton de Kock made it look easy on a difficult wicket for the batsmen. The South African scored a flamboyant 80 (off 52b; 9x4, 2x6) to lead IPL newbies Lucknow Super Giants to a six-wicket win against Delhi Capitals at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday. AS IT HAPPENED | SCORECARD | POINTS TABLEThe dew surely helped negate some of the problems the batters were facing with regards to their timing, but de Kock made sure he was there at the crease to take advantage. With 150 to chase, he added 73 for the opening wicket with LSG skipper KL Rahul to lay the platform for the win; and by the time he was dismissed Lucknow required 28 runs off four overs. The Super Giants nearly made a hash of the chase, but young gun Ayush Badoni (10 not out off 3b; 1x4, 1x6) did his quickly-growing reputation of being a finisher no harm with a boundary and a six in the 20th over to seal the deal. Earlier, it was a peculiar innings from Delhi Capitals. At the top, Prithvi Shaw batted like he was giving an exhibition of his repertoire on the flattest wicket of the world. But, as soon as he got out, the other DC batters found it excruciatingly difficult to even rotate the strike.

Augusta National: Tiger Woods Makes Final Preparations For Epic Masters Return

Tiger Woods has talked the talk, now he'll have to walk the walk as he chases a record-tying sixth Masters title only 14 months after suffering severe leg injuries in a car crash. Woods played the back nine at hilly Augusta National on Wednesday in a final practice round before Thursday's start of the 86th Masters, making one last test of his surgically repaired right leg. "I don't have any qualms about what I can do physically from a golf standpoint. It's now walking is the hard part," Woods said.

IPL 2022, LSG vs DC, Match Report: Quinton De Kock Shines As LSG Beat DC By 6 Wickets

Quinton de Kock showed imperious form in his 80 off 52 balls as Lucknow Super Giants outplayed Delhi Capitals by six wickets for their third successive win in their debut IPL season here on Thursday. Delhi Capitals lost their way after a sizzling knock from Prithvi Shaw (61 off 31) to end at 149 for 3 after Lucknow predictably decided to field first. With the resources that Lucknow possess, 150 should have been a comfortable chase and the K L Rahul-led side made sure it was, getting home with two balls to spare on a tricky surface.
