South Africa great and Royal Challengers Bangalore Hall of Famer AB de Villiers has confirmed that he will be back with the franchise for next year's Indian Premier League edition. De Villiers, who quit all forms of cricket a few months back and did not participate in IPL 2022 in which RCB will play their Eliminator match on Wednesday, said he was not yet sure in what capacity he will return. "I will definitely be around the IPL next year. I would love to return to my second hometown," de Villiers told VUSport. "I will be around RCB next year, I am missing it, don't know in which capacity but I would like to visit my second home which is Chinnaswamy stadium -- I am looking forward to it," said de Villiers, who was included in RCB Hall of Fame a few days back along with West Indies' Chris Gayle.
Rajasthan Royals will take on Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Tuesday. The Sanju Samson-led side finished at the second spot in the points table with 18 points and now would look to seal a spot in the final by defeating Gujarat. Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal have been the standout performers for RR, but in the last few matches, Buttler's performance has dipped. Rajasthan would desperately want him to find his mojo again.

Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been in fine form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, averaging more than 57 with a strike-rate of over 190. It was the prime reason behind the right-handed batter earning a call-up to India's T20I squad after three years. On Sunday, the selectors named Karthik in the squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa, beginning June 9 in Delhi. Talking about his inclusion, Karthik said that it is his "most special comeback" and he is feeling very happy.
Karthik feels his latest recall to the Indian team is his "most special comeback" of a rollercoaster international career that began way back in 2004. Karthik made the squad for India's home T20 series against South Africa beginning June 9. "This is my most special comeback because a lot of people had given up on me. For me to come back and do what I did, practice the way I did, so many special things have happened in the lead up to the rock-shell and how I practiced post that," the 36-year-old told the RCB website.
