ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Christian Pulisic scored his first international hat trick, leading the United States to the brink of returning to the World Cup with a 5-1 rout of Panama on Sunday night.
The United States men's national team couldn't confirm its place at this winter's World Cup, after Costa Rica's win at El Salvador earlier in the day, but its 5-1 win over Panama in Orlando on Sunday night put it on the brink of qualifying for Qatar 2022.
TORONTO: Cyle Larin, Tajon Buchanan and Junior Hoilett scored and Canada secured its first World Cup berth in 36 years with a 4-0 victory over Jamaica on Sunday. Canada has been to the World Cup just once before, in 1986. Canada missed out a chance to secure a spot in Qatar last week with a 1-0 loss to Costa Rica.
