UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation ready to host IMMAF Youth World Championships

ABU DHABI: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has announced that the final preparations are underway for the fourth edition of the IMMAF Youth World Championships, scheduled from Aug. 2 to 5 at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City.

Pakistan enjoyed a good day in the field against Sri Lanka on the third day of the second Test in Colombo. Opener Abdullah Shafique's maiden double century and an unbeaten 132 by Agha Salman put Pakistan in the box seat. The tourists reached 563-5 at stumps, leading Sri Lanka by 397 runs in their first innings at Colombo's Sinhalese Sports Club. Indian men's and women's hockey teams are keen to win the gold medal at the upcoming Asian Games to secure direct qualification for the next year's Paris Olympics. The men's team, who ended a 41-year wait for an Olympic medal winning a bronze at Tokyo Games, will compete in the Asian Champions Trophy in Chennai from August 3 in the build-up to the Hangzhou showpiece in September-October. "We have important matches coming up as we inch closer to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. We are excited about our upcoming tour as it also gives us a great opportunity to play against quality teams," Indian men's team skipper Harmanpreet Singh told Hockey India.
