"You Will Be Made Sacrificial Lamb...": New Pakistan Test Captain Shan Masood Told. His Reply Is...

Pakistan cricket is embarking on a new journey starting with their Australia Tour, that starts with Test on December 14. How the experiment will bear fruit will be a matter of intrigue.

Australia Called "Very Arrogant" By Social Media User, World Cup Winner Shuts Him Down In Style

Australia started the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign with two losses but then as the tournament progressed, the Pat Cummins-led Australia gathered pace. So much so, that in the biggest match of them all - the final against hosts India in Ahmedabad - Australia brought out their A+ game to trump the Rohit Sharma-led side. The Indian cricket team was considered the favorites after a 10-match winning streak but Australia turned up the heat and won their sixth Cricket World Cup title.

Pakistan Test Captain Shan Masood's Contract Upgraded From D To B Category

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood's contract was on Thursday upgraded to 'B' category from earlier 'D' by the country's cricket board, hours after the team led by him left for Australia for a Test series. The 34-year-old Masood was named Test captain on November 15 until the conclusion of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle, after Babar Azam stepped down, following Pakistan's 50-over World Cup debacle in India. "The PCB has decided to upgrade Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood's category in the central contract list from D to B," the PCB said in a statement. "The decision has been made in line with board's policy that if a centrally contracted player below A or B categories is appointed captain, their contract shall be upgraded to category B for the tenure of their captaincy." The left-handed batter has featured in 30 Tests, amassing 1,597 runs.

India vs Australia T20I Series 'Devalued': Cricket Great On What 'Cheapens' The Contest

Australian great Michael Hussey believes the five-match T20I series against India just after the World Cup had devalued the contest, adding that an overkill of cricket was "physically" and "mentally" tiring out the players. Just four days after Australia lifted the ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad defeating India on November 19, the teams squared off for the first T20I in Visakhapatnam on November 23. "I certainly feel like this T20 series has been devalued. It doesn't cheapen the World Cup but it certainly cheapens this series," Hussey, who has more than 12,000 international runs across the three formats, told Sen Radio on Wednesday.

'Quite Clear That He Is The One': Ricky Ponting Picks David Warner's Replacement In Tests

ICC Hall of Famer and former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting feels that batter Cameron Bancroft is leading the race to succeed David Warner and Usman Khawaja at the top of Australia's Test batting. Earlier, this year, Warner announced that he plans to bring down the curtains to his illustrious Test career following the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) Test against Pakistan next year. As he prepares for the final phase of his career in white clothing, there are a host of openers eyeing his place in the Australian team.
