Shaheen and his wife Ansha, who got married last year, are expecting the birth of their first child, and he could miss the Test series against Bangladesh next month. "Shaheen can miss Bangaladesh Test matches due to childbirth. We can give him [some] rest if he wants to stay with his wife till then," said Pakistan's red-ball coach Jason Gillispie as quoted from Geo News.

PCB, Former Players To Discuss Steps To Improve Pakistan Domestic Cricket

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited 25 former international cricketers for a meeting to discuss steps to improve the domestic cricket structure. Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB chief, and other board officials will meet the former stalwarts on Monday to find their views and suggestions. The parley will touch upon the ways to reduce the gap in the standards of Pakistan domestic competitions and international cricket. The meeting will also consider a comprehensive blueprint submitted by another former player on the problems with the existing cricket system in the country.

Pakistan World Cup winner Mushtaq Ahmed praised under-fire Pakistan captain Babar Azam, and stated that he requires contributions from the rest of the players. Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq on Thursday rubbished allegations of favouring certain Pakistan players and forcing other selectors to toe the line in the T20 World Cup. Both the former Test cricketers, Wahab and Razzaq, were on Wednesday sacked as selectors by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The decision to remove Wahab came as a surprise since he is perceived to be very close to the incumbent PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Wahab had also worked as an advisor on sports with wide ranging powers in the caretaker government in Punjab ran by Naqvi, until the elections were held earlier this year.
