Smriti Mandhana Gifts Wheelchair-Bound Girl Mobile Phone After India Match In Asia Cup

In a heartwarming gesture, star India batter Smriti Mandhana gifted a wheelchair-bound girl a mobile phone after the team's match at the ongoing women's T20 Asia Cup tournament in Dambulla. Adeesha Herath, who came to the stadium escorted by her mother in a wheelchair, experienced a pleasant surprise as Mandhana came to meet her and presented her a phone. "Adeesha Herath's love for cricket brought her to the stadium, despite all the challenges. The highlight of her day? A surprise encounter with her favourite cricketer, Smriti Mandhana, who handed her a mobile phone as a token of appreciation," Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a tweet.

"Very Slim Chances": Ex-Pakistan Board Chief's Blunt Admission On India Travelling For Champions Trophy

Former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Khalid Mahmood believes India will not travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy early next year. "They are very very slim chances they will agree to play in Pakistan," Mahmood, who is a retired senior bureaucrat, said. He, however, said that if India doesn't visit Pakistan, it would be a non-profitable deal for PCB and the ICC.

PCB Turns Down NOC Request From Players To Play In Global T20 League

The Pakistan Cricket Board has turned down requests for No Objection Certificate from senior players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi to participate in the Global T20 League, citing the hectic international calendar. “The PCB had received NOC requests from Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi for the Global T20 event, amongst other players. “After taking into consideration Pakistan's busy and packed cricket calendar in the period from August 2024 to March 2025, which includes nine ICC World Test Championship matches and next year's ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and following consultations with the three players as well as the national selection committee, it has been decided to decline their requests,” the board said in a statement.

Mohammed Shami Blasts Inzamam-ul-Haq's 'Cartoongiri' Over Attack On Arshdeep Singh During T20 World Cup

During the T20 World Cup 2024, former Pakistan captain Inzamam ul Haq made a strange claim against Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh. He indirectly said that the left-arm pacer was tampering with the ball. Drawing reference to his bowling against Australia, Inzamam said: "Arshdeep Singh, when he was bowling the 15th over, the ball was reversing. is it too early (for reverse swing) with the new ball? This means the ball was ready for reverse swing by the 12th or the 13th over. Umpires should keep their eyes open (to spot) these things...If it was Pakistani bowlers (reverse swinging the ball) this would have been a big issue. We know reverse swing very well and if Arshdeep can come in the 15th over and start reversing the ball, it means some serious work had been done before."

Harbhajan Singh Furious As Pakistan Journalist Asks "Who's Better, MS Dhoni Or Mohammad Rizwan?"

Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has lambasted a Pakistan cricket fan and journalist Farid Khan for comparing Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan with former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and asking who is better. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Farid Khan, who lists himself as having worked for the Pakistan Cricket Board, Pakistan Super League, Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024, and T10 Global League, made the comparison of Rizwan with the former India great.

Ind vs Pak: Clinical India Romp To 7-Wicket Win Over Pakistan In Women's Asia Cup T20

Contenders India started their Women's T20 Asia Cup title defence on a rousing note, demolishing arch-foes Pakistan by seven wickets in Dambulla on Friday. India bundled out Pakistan for a below-par 108 after being asked to bowl and then chased down the target with as many as 35 balls remaining. Chasing 109, Indian openers Shafali Verma (40) and Smriti Mandhana (45) was at their best as they toyed with the Pakistani attack from the word go. It was an aggressive display of batting from both the Indian openers as they mostly dealt in fours and sixes.

"Pakistan's Best Player Won't Get Into Playing XI Of Top 5 Teams": Shoaib Malik Slanders Babar Azam

Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam continues to court criticism from former players. Citing the example of the Indian team and their skipper Rohit Sharma, former Pakistan star Shoaib Malik suggested that Babar wouldn't get picked in the playing XIs of any of the top teams in the world, be it India, England, Australia, or others. Babar's team produced a horror show in the recently concluded T20 World Cup and were eliminated in the group stage itself. Defeats against India and Afghanistan resulted in Pakistan's elimination, and Malik wants Babar to change the way he plays the game completely.
