Australian national selector George Bailey has said that the national team plans to move on from the recently-retired David Warner despite the southpaw's desire to be considered for the Champions Trophy in Pakistan next year. The 37-year-old Warner retired from international cricket following the T20 World Cup in the Americas last month, where the Aussies failed to progress beyond the Super 8 stage. However, he had insisted that he will keep the door open for a return for the Champions Trophy, a One-Day International format ICC event.

Amid criticism over the team's performances in recent times, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced a significant overhaul in the system to improve the quality of cricket. Naqvi discussed the same with other PCB stakeholders, and the white-ball and red ball team head coaches -- Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie. Naqvi also revealed that both Kirsten and Gillespie will join the selection committee along with former players Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq, as well as the current team captains from both white-ball and red-ball formats.

PCB Appoints Tony Hemming As Chief Curator For 2 Years

The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Australia's Tony Hemming as its new chief curator on a two-year contract. In the past the PCB had hired the services of foreign curators like Andy Atkinson to help improve the quality of pitches in the country but this is the first time it has offered a long-term contract to a foreign curator. Hemmings hails from Western Australia. The Australian has worked in the past with the ICC and has four decades of experience in pitch and outfield management, having worked on Melbourne, Perth and Hobart grounds apart from supervising tracks in Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
