Australia Dominate Pakistan In Truncated T20I Series-Opener

Veteran batter Glenn Maxwell returned to form before quicks Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis claimed three wickets apiece as Australia downed Pakistan by 29 runs in a truncated T20I series-opener in Brisbane on Thursday. The match was reduced to a contest with seven overs per side after a delayed start due to heavy rain and lightning. After Maxwell's blistering 43 off 19 balls powered a shorthanded Australia to an imposing 93-4, Pakistan's batting-order crumbled under lights to finish well short on 64-9. Ellis and Bartlett, who both enjoyed successful comebacks to the side after recent injuries, led an aggressive attack.

During the match, Maxwell showcased glimpses of form that make him one of the most feared cricketers in the world, scoring 43 in just 19 balls, with five boundaries and three sixes. Lungi Ngidi Ruled Out Of South Africa's Home Series Against Sri Lanka, Pakistan

South Africa fast-bowler Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the side's upcoming home series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan due to a groin injury, said Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Thursday. CSA added that Ngidi, 28, recently underwent a medical assessment as part of his structured conditioning period, during which scans revealed bilateral proximal adductor tendinopathy. He will now begin a rehabilitation programme and is expected to return to play in January. It means that South Africa will be without Ngidi's services for the two Tests against Sri Lanka and the all-format series against Pakistan. Ngidi has picked 55 wickets for South Africa in Tests at an average of just 23.14 in 19 Test matches. His last appearance for the Proteas internationally came in the ODI series against Ireland in Abu Dhabi last month.

Focus On Rinku Singh's Form And Batting Position As India Aim Series Win vs South Africa

Rinku Singh's batting slot and circumspect approach must be a cause of concern for the India team going into the deciding fourth T20I against South Africa as the side aims for another bilateral series victory in Johannesburg Friday. Centuries by Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma on either side of an inept batting performance has kept India's nose ahead in the series and team would want a more collective batting effort to clinch it 3-1. The Wanderers 'Bull Ring' has always been a happy hunting ground for India, where they won the 2007 T20 World Cup final against Pakistan.

ICC's Role Under Scrutiny Amid India, Pakistan Tussle; Top Champions Trophy Official Unhappy

What is International Cricket Council's (ICC) role in the current mess that the 2025 Champions Trophy finds itself in? Now, questions are being raised by insiders too. The situation is such that there are clouds over the Champions Trophy 2025 itself.

'Not Embracing, Never Worked': Australia Great On India's Close-Door Training Ahead Of Perth Test

As India have officially begun their preparations for the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Perth, reportedly training behind closed doors on Wednesday at the WACA, Australian great Ian Healy thinks that tourists are making a mistake by opting for total privacy as he believes it can create an unhappy touring squad. According to The Sydney Morning Herald report, security guards covered the outside of the WACA nets with a black tarp to prevent eyes from watching India's preparations. It also claimed that construction workers at the WACA were even told, via an email, that they weren't allowed to take photos or be seen catching a peek of training while on break.
